Moving Your Business Into New Commercial Premises

It can be an exciting time for your business when you are getting ready to move into new premises, but there are many things you will need to sort out before moving into your new business premises. You must ensure that you create a suitable working environment for your business that can help your employees work productively. You will need to take some time to plan your new workplace, its layout, and how you will decorate it, which can impact the productivity of your workers. Below are some of the factors you will need to consider and things you will need to do to get your new building ready for your business to move into it.

Decide On The Floorplan

You will need to consider the floorplan you want for your warehouse and

offices, and ensure you select a practical design that helps people work efficiently. You will need to work out where the racking will go in your warehouse and ensure it has enough space and the offices are suitable for the different departments in your business. Once you have decided on the most appropriate floor plan for your business, you can start preparing everything for painting.

Preparing Your Warehouse For Painting

You will need to get your warehouse ready for the racking to be installed, and before this happens, you will need to prepare the floor. You will need a quality heavy-duty floor cleaner to clean the surface properly, and you will then want to seal the floor surface if it is made from concrete. Once the floor sealing is complete, you can then paint the floor with lines showing the spacing for the racking and where the walkways are. Once your warehouse is ready, you must ensure your offices are up to scratch.

Getting Your Offices Ready

You will need to look at the flooring in your offices and decide what type you will use for your office flooring. The best choice will depend on your budget and the foot traffic the area will receive. Some of the available options include:

  • Carpets
  • Vinyl Flooring
  • Wooden Flooring
  • Tiles
  • Polished Concrete

Once you have tackled the floors in your office area, you can start making it look beautiful. You can paint your walls an appropriate colour that matches your colour scheme and start putting up the partitions to separate the different areas of your office. Something else you will need to do is look at the lighting in your offices and do away with the fluorescent strip lighting you often find in these buildings. Instead, replace it with the latest LED lighting, which is more efficient and cost-effective and can make for a much better working environment.

Putting Up Your Signage

One of the last things you need to do is erect your business signs so everyone can see your company’s name. You will want to make it as easy as possible to locate your business and show everybody what you do. Once your sign is up, you are ready to move your business into its new premises and start the next chapter in the life of your business.
